Hope After Loss Retreats - 2026

Through the heartache of losing a loved one, we can find healing and comfort through God’s love and strength.

Losing a loved one to addiction brings a twist of complicated emotions from shame to regret to agonizing sorrow. Hope After Loss retreats will help you process your emotions and press forward on the journey of healing and restoration. This is done in a relaxing retreat setting, through sharing in small groups, keynote speakers, and self-care. By walking through grief together God can give us strength, purpose, and HOPE in the midst of our circumstances.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost of the retreat?

For our large retreat in March the cost is: Single Room: $425, Double Room $550
For each moms' retreat the cost is: $325

What does the cost cover?

- Lodging
- Retreat t-shirt
- Heavy hors d'oeuvres (Friday evening)
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner (Saturday)
- Breakfast (Sunday)
- Snacks and drinks throughout

Why did the price increase from last year?

I know we all hate hearing the word “inflation,” but food and lodging costs have increased, so we had to increase our prices as well. We keep the cost as low as possible and get sponsors to help fill the gaps in expenses. Without sponsors, attendees' costs would be doubled.

What is the difference between a double and single ticket?

A double ticket is discounted for couples or friends wanting to share a room. A single ticket is for an individual rooming alone.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are available up to two weeks prior to retreat. Email Amy (Amy@hopeisalive.net,) and/or Darcie (Darcie@hopeisalive.net) for a refund.

Who are the speakers at the retreats?

At all the retreats, you will get the opportunity to hear from our Director of Family Support Groups, our Finding Hope Coordinator, and our Finding Hope & Hope After Loss Consultants. There will also be guest speakers who are in the field of addiction & recovery, who love someone who struggles with substances, and who lost a loved one to the impact of substance use.

What do I need to pack?

Here is what we recommend for attire:
- Friday evening: Casual
-
Saturday morning/afternoon: Casual / Retreat t-shirt (you will receive this at check-in)
- Saturday evening: Casual
- Sunday morning: Casual
Toiletries

Optional:
- Bathing suit (Pool and hot tub available at some of retreat locations)
- Self-care activities (we will have some options for you to do, but if you have a specific hobby or love feel free to bring it)
*Bedding & Towels provided

Will I have a roommate?

Possibly. During registration, you will have an option to tell us who you would be willing to share a room with during the retreat. You will not be placed in a room with someone you do not know. Each person will have their own bed, unless registering as a married couple.

Can I bring my children/grandchildren that are under 18?

No. The Finding Hope retreat is for those 18 and older.

Can I bring my addicted loved one?

No. This weekend is for YOU to invest in yourself.

What if I live near the retreat cities, is there a separate cost for commuting back and forth from my house?

We believe there is great value in staying at the retreat center. It gives you the full experience and allows you to truly retreat and not worry about seeing dirty dishes, laundry, loud dogs, taking care of kids/grandkids, etc. At this time we will not be offering a separate price (though we may consider it if we fill all the lodging rooms).

Are there scholarships available?

Yes. We have a limited amount of scholarships available. It is based on sponsorships. We do ask that you pay a $50 deposit if you receive a scholarship. It can be broken up into multiple payments. Email Amy at Amy@hopeisalive.net for more information.
